| Hey
everyone..After careful review of our records, the San Antonio fertility clinic and the
motion picture industry of America has decided to rate my wife, Melanie Elaine Kirk, as PG
(pregnant)! Woo Hoo!! My boys can ride the chute!!! Many of you may not know, but Melanie
and I invested in the IVF (in vitro fertilization) process and introduced our cellular
biological reproductive parts to each other in a petri dish. I kind of look at it as a big
water park. We just threw everyone into the pool and 3 of the winners got to ride down the
Schlitterbaun (water slide) 2 weeks ago. We are so excited. Melanie and I just found out
this morning at 10:50 AM that we are going to have to grow up and become responsible
parents in 9 months. Guess that would make February or March a good time to have a baby or
two or three. We shall see. I wish you could have seen Melanie's face when she got the
news. She looked like she was about to cry. She was sitting by the phone all day, pacing
around the house and trying to stay busy, but she just couldn't stand the anticipation. I
was out in the yard mowing the lawn when Melanie stepped out of the house for a brief
moment to give me some gatorade to drink, then....her senses picked up the ringing of the
phone and she dashed into the house to grab the phone. Well,...gotta go and balance the ol
checkbook and take a cold hard look at those finances. Thanks for all of your prayers and
support! Here is the latest and greatest photo. Hope you aren't bored. We are at 7 weeks and counting when this photo was taken on June 15th, 2000. For those of you who haven't heard. It's twins. Just like Arnold Schwartzenegger and Danny Devito. Scott and Melanie Kirk Hey gang, |
Scotty-P (The "P" stands for Proud Papa to be)
| Congrats and Good job, Scott. Surprisingly, the fetus on the right looks remarkably like the milkman.......which is actually a compliment. The one on the left looks like Stork. <grin> | Ronnie G. Robinson | |
| Congratulations and our Prayers are with the four of you that all go well. Unfortunately, I saw Ronnie G's reply and I might have to agree with his views.:) God Bless | Jerry & Tracey Collazo & Family | |
| Were those butt cracks or
schlongs? Oink. Congrats to both of you and we look forward to meeting both of them!
As always, remember your friends are here to help, don't hesitate to ask. Later, p.s. Mel, did Scott troll for a father's day present already? |
John Rosenwald and Family
| What a boyky! We are very proud of you and Melanie. Cheers | George and Liesl | |
| Congratulations! | Kay Cuclis | |
| They look just like you!!!!!!! Congratulations!! | Cindy Orchard | |
| I'll be damned. Seems those long hours/days away from home weren't quite long distance enough! Congratulations to you both. Traditions like "The Dance of the Leprechaun", "New York - New York", and the HHG will live on and on as the Spencers, Oylers, Rosenwalds, Chris & Annette, and now the Kirks continue to add to the census. Best wishes from us both, | Fred & Sherry Shows | |
| Hi Scott and Melanie, Congratulations on the twins. Hope all goes well with everyone. I could not decode the attachment (photo) but am assuming it is 7 weeks till they arrive (photo of scan) rather than seven weeks after arrival - by which time they'll probably have their own names and be impressing you with their own personalities ! | David "the piper" Stevenson | |
| Congratulations and Best Wishes to Both of You, how exciting....twins, I think some places may offer twin insurance (don't advise that you know yet) and when the births occur, you may be able to double up on goods (strollers, etc. 2 x for the insurance). Let me know how the pregnancy goes along, I hear the father can experience symptons also along with the mother-to-be...sometimes the mothers fair better than the fathers... Hope to hear from you soon. Love to all. | Betty Sue | |
| Congrats you guys!!!! We're both happy for y'all and GOOD LUCK. | Gloria and Alfred Ramirez | |
| I think your doctor has a vivid imagination to call those two little blips twins. Congatulations on your news. Hope you guys can handle double the fun, double the diapers, double the midnight feedings.... | Lynn & Steve Knight | |
| That is awesome! Congrats dude! | Brian Moon | |
| congrats scott and melanie! That's great! | Kim Fuller | |
| Congratulations on the twins...that is so cool. | Michael Flores | |
| You will never know how happy I am for you two!!! I got the news and instantly thanked God for the blessing!!! I am out in Colorado and will be returning home Wednesday. I have spent three weeks with David. It has been wonderful...one to have time without kids and two to see David and this beautiful country! I am getting a little homesick I must confess!! The wedding is in only two weeks...I still have so much to do and so little money!!:-) I am sure the Lord will provide a way He always does, doesn't He?! Again condratulations, best wishes, good luck and God be with you both!!!! Keep me posted on your progress. I will do the same!! Much love to the four of you!!! | Ann Kelly | |
| Hi Scott! congratulations on the twins!! I hope all is well with you and Melanie! Take care! | Natalie McClean | |
| Hi. I am so very happy for the two of you. Multiple births are not that unusual with in vitro, but from one egg it's a jackpot. Congratulations to you both and please keep sending the baby pictures they are great!!!!! Hugs and a million happy kisses to you both, PS: Scott Mike's computer is down and I picked up the picture at work so be sure to re-send your baby pictures to him later this week. Thanks. | Maggie Marrero | |
| Oh you guys, I'm SO happy for you! I'm so excited, and I would like to be one of the first to offer to babysit, seriously! I have experience too, so you can trust me! Well Mel, what do you have to say to Deb's notion that two make you complete? As if you weren't already. Go girl! Remember what I told you at Ninfa's Scott...two keep each other company, and I don't think it's any harder to manage than with just one. I must have known to offer that premature encouragement! I love you guys! Congratulations! | Annette Garza | |
| Congrats to both of you from me down here. Cheers | Gunter Graeter, Impregnation Engineer :) | |
| Congratulations!!! And as Pesci told me, We'll find the guy who did this and make him pay!! God bless you two. Having a good time in Annapolis. | LJ and Christine Smith | |
| Congratuations you two, we knew you had it in you (pun)! That
is wonderful and Mel won't be real hot during that time, it will be just right for her!
You won't have to worry about babysitters, EVERYONE will want to take care of your little
one. Just keep on taking it easy and watch out for those cravings Mel is going to get.
Really, Melanie just needs to be LAZY for a few days, eat some bon bons, etc. Ha! The
eight cell little guy looks like you both, it is so cool to look at. I wonder why they
don't wait until it divides even more before transfer? I'm sure you know the answer.Keep
her stress free, rub her feet....that really helps a women to NEST! Talk to you later
brother. We love you both. So cool Scott........you never quit amazing me with your ideas and neat stuff. Can't believe Mel is showing that much but with twins I guess things speed up pretty good. I am so happy for you both! |
Debi and Dennis Weyer | |
| Hi Elvis,...got your note, best wishes in having a new baby. Hope everything is on track. Too bad the technology is so expensive. | William "Helium" Auvil | |
| CONGRATULATIONS! Nothing will be more rewarding, or more
trying, than children. You're both in for a wonderful ride. If multiples are in the cards, I will DEFINITELY pray for you. They're a blast! Savor every day...especially your sleep! LOL Scott, you'd better treat Melanie REALLY well these next few months! That "preggers" thing really throws your body for a loop. Keep us posted. Glad to hear the great news. I know how frustrating that infertility roller coaster ride can be, and it's NO FUN. Brent and I went through many similar "events". Unless you've gone through it yourself, you can never understand the emotions attached to each and every doctor visit. Sure makes that call Melanie received worth it, huh? ENJOY! Melanie &
Scott, No need to every apologize for taking
time to reply. I think you two are |
Recy (Terry) Moore | |
| Congrats you guys! I am so happy for you both. love yall! | Whitney Weyer | |

Nancy Keeter | |
| Scott,You can fool us once, but twice, not a chance. I know your April Fool jokes can last a bit longer so please give it to us straight or we might have to hurt you. Ha! Ha! Thanks for the e-mail. Talk to ya'll later. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it could be done. I hope ya'll didn't take offense at my off-the-wall humor from my previous e-mail. I was just joking around with Scott since he pulled a fast one on all of us on 1 Apr 00. Donna and myself are really happy for ya'll. Donna says that you two would make good parents. She really likes both of you. I think ya'll will do terrific. Keep us posted and we will keep ya'll in our prayers. Love you much. Cliff "the one and only" | Cliff Kirk | |
| Scott! What great news! Congratulations. If you can believe it, I had my son's 16th birthday party last weekend. I can still remember what it's like when you find out. Scary and exciting all at the same time. Enjoy every moment, they fly by way too quick. I'd remind you that he/she will have to be enrolled in youth leage soccer, but that's a given. Congrats again, | Jeff Davis | |
| Congratulations Scott & Melanie! I am so excited for the both of you! I have been sitting back and observing families when Draven and I go out, oh how I miss my family setting. Something I worked so hard for all of my life, and I had finally gotten a grasp of what a truely meaningful, happy family was; was taken from me in one full swoop. I know that this baby is something that you two have been working hard for. So good luck to the both of you. Keep youselves healthy and get plenty of rest. I am happy for you both. God bless you three! Love, | Taren and Draven Kirk | |
| Congrats to the future parents!! Bets of luck for a beautiful,
healthy baby!! Love, Hey, you two! (or should I say you four!!) |
Judi and Phil | |
| Congrats to you and Melanie. We wish you the best. Take care. Love | Aloma and Greg Nowell | |
| Hey there! (your) Mom told me the wonderful news! wonderful
news! Will continue to pray for Mel to have a safe pregnancy, and for you to get your act
together twice as fast!!! I love you guys and can't wait to hear more! Again,
congratulations and thanks be to God! (PS Do you and Mel want to know the gender of
the babies or are you into surprises?) Love you, I can't
believe it. What am I going to do do? do do? I guess I will be knee deep in it, won't I?
>> Thanks for the snapshot of the twins
- funny how you labeled them Tweedle Dee/Dum - I was going to say something along similar
lines, but out of respect for MEL, thought I would not go there =) As far as Arnold and
Danny go, let's pray your kids are better looking (but equally well off!) - Love to all 4
of you! Edie |
Edie and Andy Krakowiak
| Congrats. You'd better start stocking up on "Double-Mint Gum"! | Matthew "Taco" Bell | |
| Congratulations! I wish I had something witty to say, but I am worried that it might come across as 'mean'. You must be on an incredible 'high' right now. Enjoy, |
Mike "Nick" Conkling | |
| Congratulations you two! Thanks for the phone call last week Scott. You got the right number. We had just gotten back from visiting my family in California and haven't had the time to really sit down and write you a note. Thanks for all the reunion photos too. If you know how I can get a reunion memory book, please let me know! | Robert Schalle | |
| Elvi, Congrats. I'm sure you're swamped w/ "advice" but here's some more practical stuff. Go out to eat every night. See every movie you could ever possibly want to. Sleep in every morning you can. Once the babies come it's all over but the diaper changing. Less work, More pay |
Michael "Mango" and Lisa Carr
| We hadn't heard. Congratulations AGAIN! We're excited for all 4 of you. Lee & D. | Lee and Dolores Wheeler | |
| Congrats, you two!! ...does that mean a "midsummers night birth"?... |
Chris and Karin Quinn | |
| Hey, what's up? This is the first I've heard! Congratulations!
(your swimmies must be mighty potent). Enjoy your privacy while it lasts... |
Linda and Ernie Fry | |
| Scottie P..... Double congratulations; Ilse and I are really happy for both you and Mel. Scotty...... I can't believe I still haven't personally congratulated you on the twins...I did call a couple of times, but you were allays out. All I can say is "I'm lame." But you knew that. I'm really happy for you guys; how are Mel and the babies doing? Have you been to any ultrasounds? I hope all is well. Keep me posted. Ronnie |
Ronnie and Ilse Medlock
| Congrats, Scott & Melanie, Unfortunately, I cannot view the
picture in my Netscape mail tool, here at work. |
Jaime Chunda | |
| Hey Scott, way to go man! Now I understand why you were asking me the recipe of how to get blue or pink socks! Congratulations for both of you! As you have proven, the only effective recipe is to try hard and often! What can I tell you, this pregnancy/parenting stuff is great, especially for us guys, we don't suffer most of the little inconveniences of the pregnancy, our roll is more like giving support to the mothers to be, and please their endless cravings Please say hi to Mel, good luck and congratulations again! (Double!) PS Do you know if your babies are in the same "bag"? Because if not, you could have both blue AND pink socks! Let me know when you find out the "color". |
The Orozcos (Juan, Mariana and little Juan Carlos)

| Hello all HHGers! Since John sent out an email I was able to
copy his mailing list. I had a major computer crash and lost my whole address book and all of my old emails. How is everyone doing? Any HHG news that we are missing out on? Not much going on here. Things are very quiet since Teryn and Stefan left for Europe. It's very cold here at the moment which seems so strange as my well-conditioned brain thinks that it should be 100 degrees every day. Congratulations to everyone who has either gotten pregnant, engaged, birthdayed or whatever that I've missed over the past few months. My phone and computer are both working for the moment, which seems like a miracle so I will try to better keep up with all the goings on. Tracy |

| Bonjour Scott et Melanie! Comment ca va ? Did you have a nice trip back to the US ? All the planes first catch? You were probably looking so handsome that they didn't have any choice to place you in the business lounge! How are the twins doing ? Any new pictures from them? After you left we went back to Marseille with my family and we had a little honeymoon in Paris of three days before we left for South Africa. We've been waiting for our wedding since so long so we can't believe we are finally married now! At the moment we are taking care of our house, Sean has some crazy idea to transform everything! I think you will have to come back to visit us in Durban in South Africa to see that! We really wanted to thank you to have come from so far to be with us on our special day, it really meant a lot to us, we hope to see you soon maybe in the US and visit the future little Kirks, Talk to you soon, Steph and Sean. Ps : did you have any news from Teryn and Stef? |

David Wallenburn | |
| Hey Scott, this is Rey. I used to work at Trivideom, and I helped out with the Shuttle video your were doing. Just wanted to congratulate the both of you. I'm not sure if I told you when we were working on the video, but I got married last January, and my wife, Stephanie is also very happy for both of you. Drop me a line, and let me know how you are doing and how the video showing went. | Rey Sindred | |
| Hi Guys! Congratulations on your little bambinos! You guys just can't do the "average" thing, can you? No, you have to go and be twice as good as everyone else in the reproductive arena! Really, congratulations on the twins. We hope you will be around the weekend of July 15 because we'll be in San Antonio then and are really looking forward to seeing y'all. We're staying the nights of the 15th and 16th with Stork and Jenny. Hope to see you around then. |
