These Sensory Wraps and Blankets provide proprioceptive feedback and stability. They are designed to be used with Weight Sets and other sensory items, in a therapy setting or at home. They are soft, comfortable, and considered “Class A” for flame retardancy, and completely washable. Small channels run diagonally along the length of the Wraps/Blankets for the weight strips and larger channels allow other sensory items to be safely placed within them. This material also allows other sensory items to be attached directly to it by using a section of hook closure material attached to the items. A hidden strip of hook and loop is located at the end of the Wraps and Blankets, allowing them to be folded in half and secured, providing overlap of sensory input. Weight sets are sold separately, allowing the therapist to choose the desired Weight Set needed.

Note: Hook and loop closures are located on both ends of the weight channels, helping to keep the weights in place. The weight channels can be modified to accommodate two weights sets; when ordering please indicate if you are considering two weight sets.

If a client initially resists the Blanket, the problem could be resistance to tactile input; too much or too little weight. For tactile problems, place a sheet between the client and the wrap or blanket. To determine if there is too much weight, reduce the total weight by removing weight strips evenly along the Blanket until it is accepted. If there is not enough weight, consider a heavier weight set. Customer feedback also indicates that 10% of the clients’ weight is normally being used successfully.
