Officially, "the Friends of the Pleasanton Public Library shall be a non policy making and non-profit organization, the object of which shall be to promote the interest and welfare of Pleasanton Public Library as a cultural and educational asset to the city of Pleasanton."
What do we really do?
- raise funds for materials, programs and extras
- provide for and fund special programs such as the Read-to-Me and Summer Reading or participation in parades
- solicit gifts, endowments and memorials
- work for good public relations for the Library through contacts with groups and individuals
- stay in close contact with the business community on behalf of the Library
- assist in lobbying efforts at state, national and local levels.
